Yes, I need a break from the relentless grey, grim, and leaden skies of South East England, I can’t speak for anywhere else in the UK. Yes, I do realise this is a minor issue compared to what is happening in the wider world.
On a positive note, I am excited about a break that I will be having next month. I will be spending a weekend in Porto, Portugal. This city has been on my ‘want to visit’ list for a long time. On this occasion, I will be going with my youngest son.
We will join my eldest son and his Brazilian wife to visit their July wedding venue and sample a tasting menu for their celebratory meal. They had a registry office wedding in Reading last October, but Porto will be the main celebration. I cannot wait!
Fancying France 
If it’s any consolation, the weather has been grey and foggy here for a week or so, at least in the part of SW France where I live. It sounds like a lovely break. Porto is also on my list. I look forward to hearing more about it.

My husband is returning to Castelnaudary next week to work on our house, it looks as if the sunshine will arrive the same day as he does.

Absolutely! It’s actually pouring here this afternoon, after a couple of near perfect weeks. Have to get those jobs done sometime 🤔🩵

😄 There are always outstanding jobs/chores that need to be done. I went for a dog walk with two friends and their dogs. We were out for just shy of two hours and got soaked. Luckily, we have all the necessary wet weather gear. I managed to slip over into the mud which caused great amusement!
