Fancying France

The musings of a ‘femme d’un certain âge’ who divides her time between SW France and SE England

About

Hello and Welcome! Salut et Bienvenue sur mon blog!

I’m June and I’m based in the UK. I live in a village in the Surrey Hills, roughly between London and Brighton. I spend a significant amount of time in our house, in SW France, which is situated between Carcassonne and Toulouse.

This blog has developed from a long held love affair with France which began at the age of sixteen and has endured to this day. During my first visit to France, on an exchange trip to Paris, I fell in love for the first time. Or thought I had! Gilles, a Marc Bolan look-alike, broke my heart but did not diminish my affection for his birthplace. Little did I realise that this initial infatuation – with Paris, not Gilles – would shape my future studies and career. Yes, I became a teacher of French!

Although the focus of this blog is France, I also write about some of my other passions, including travel and dogs!

I enjoy the creative process of producing a blog and I love connecting with bloggers from all over the world. Thank you for reading and, purely for cuteness, here’s a picture of my young Border Collie, Zeph!
