What a wonderful question but where to start? I am fortunate because there are so many things that bring me joy. The obvious ones are a wonderful family and delightful, long-life friends. But other, simple pleasures also bring me joy. Here’s a list:
- Walking
- Being by the sea
- Beginning the first page of a book I have been longing to read
- Zumba – I love dancing
- Travel
- An early morning cup of tea in bed with a book
- Watching a sunrise or sunset
- France
- Listening to memorable and meaningful music
- Sitting, sipping a coffee beside the Canal du Midi
There are many other things that bring me joy but I think my post might be too long if I listed them all!
Thank you for reading and I’d love to know what bring you joy.

It’s difficult to know where to start and like you I’d make a list starting with family and friends, then tea first thing in the morning and coffee later on, Pilates classes, Norway, reading a good book, writing blogs, cake, a good film, cruises, That’ll do for starters!

I love your list, Penny! I would second all of those, except for Norway and cruises because I haven’t experienced them – yet!

I like similar things too but rather than France I would replace with travel in general. I never drink tea in bed or in the mornings but cappuccinos bring me joy and wake me up!

Although I do love France, I have to agree that I also love travelling to other places. I’m always very impressed by your travel adventures, Marion!

Thank you June. I don’t know why but I’ve always had this desire to travel as much as I can. No-one would ever think we had a nice house to live in as I’m away so much!

I imagine you have a lovely home Marion, but life is about making the most of opportunities (i.e. travelling) when one can- in my opinion!

My new year resolution that I have made for the past 11 years and have kept – “Experience or learn something new for the next 365 days!”

That is an incredible resolution and even more amazing that you have kept it for 11 years – very thought-provoking!

Glad to know you love Zumba👍👍 I am Zumba fan myself. Although I don’t know Spanish, I love the joyful Spanish music. I have questions here😉 Is Zumba popular in UK? How about in France. I enjoyed watching girls dancing in Paris when we were visiting.

Zumba is very popular in the UK and I have been attending classes for about ten years. I love it! I don’t go to classes when I’m in France but that’s because there aren’t any nearby. I’m sure I would be able to find them in a much larger town. Thanks for taking the time to comment. 😊
