I don’t do DIY. It doesn’t interest me and if I can get someone else to carry out DIY for me – so much the better.
In the past, I have dabbled with DIY, out of necessity rather than choice. I’ve painted walls, and upcycled a few small pieces of furniture, usually by employing chalk paint, but that’s about as far as goes.
However, design is another matter. I like to think I’m creative in terms of ideas but carrying them out – no way!

About 25 years ago, my husband and I bought a five bedroom, three bathroom house that needed a lot of work. We replaced doors, cabinets, windows, molding, countertops, we painted, built a deck and patio, and fixed up the garden. It took us many years, but the return on our investment and sweat equity was rewarding.

These projects are amazing when they are finished. Your house sounds wonderful. My husband loves DIY and is very good at what he does – when he has the time! I’m happy to be his designer/labourer😊
