I’m not a huge fan of sweets unless dark chocolate counts as a sweet!
However, I do love Fruit Pastilles. I like them so much that I have to limit my consumption. When I was pregnant with my second son, I developed a craving for these sweets – nothing else, just Fruit Pastilles!

I used to stop and buy a tube of Fruit Pastilles on my way home from work. Then, I would proceed to scoff one after the other until the packet was finished. There was no stopping me! Unsurprisingly, my son also loves Fruit Pastilles. Is this a coincidence? I don’t think so!

Rowntree’s originally made Fruit Pastilles in 1881. The factory was in Tyneside, in the Northeast of England. Nestlé acquired these sweets in 1998, and the pastilles were made suitable for vegans in 2000. These small round sugar-coated sweets come in various flavours, including strawberry, blackcurrant, lemon, lime, and orange.

I carried out some further research via the Nestlé website. Fruit Pastilles contain real fruit juice and no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. They are available in tubes, sharing bags, multipacks and cartons.

Fruit Pastilles are very chewy. I would suggest that it’s impossible to eat a Fruit Pastille without chewing!
