I adore dogs. I grew up in a dog-loving family, a tradition I have maintained. Dogs have always been a part of my life and feature on my blog.

The first dog I can recall is Trixie, a rescue from Battersea. I must have been three years of age, but I can remember her gentleness.

Over the years, I have also had cats. As an animal lover, there are few I dislike, and dogs remain my favourite.

Why do I love dogs?

  • They’re fantastic company
  •  They are loyal
  •  They’re always pleased to see you, even if you’ve been out of the room for five minutes
  •  They offer comfort
  •  They listen to every word you say
  •  They can make you feel safe
  •  They don’t answer back!
  •  They ensure that you, as well as them, get exercise -whatever the weather
  •  They can relieve stress
  •  They’re fun

Our two previous dogs were Cassie, a flat coat retriever and Brillo, a rescue lurcher.

We waited four years before getting our current dog, Zeph. He is now three years old but here is a post I wrote when he arrived:
