The short response to today’s prompt is that I don’t have a favourite author! As I said in Bloganuary 10, I’m an avid reader with an eclectic taste in books. There are a few authors I like, and I have read everything they have written. That doesn’t make them my favourite author. I will discover a new author – to me – and for the duration of reading their book, they will become my favourite. I’m fickle when it comes to a favourite author!
How to solve my dilemma and chose a favourite? Make a list! In no particular order, here are some of my favourite authors:
- Kate Atkinson
- Nicci French
- Robert Galbraith
- Maggie O’Farrell
- Joanne Harris
- Ellie Griffiths
- Alexander McCall Smith
- Caitlin Moran
- David Nicholls
- Daphne du Maurier
All these authors have written books that have kept me enthralled and entertained until the very last page.
Do you like any of these authors? Do you have a favourite author?
I have a few favorites – Jane Austen and Lucy Maud Montgomery to name a couple!

I like Jane Austen, too!

Larry McMurtry and Tom Wolfe were two authors I read multiple books from. And Philip Labro’s L’etudiant Etranger got me to read several of his books, Un Ete Dans l’Ouest, etc.
