What about the present?
Of course, I reflect on the past – often fondly, sometimes regretfully, but mostly nostalgically.
As for the future – there are certain pleasures that I look forward to, for example, my son’s wedding this summer! On the other hand, the future can look frightening at times.
I try to focus on the present and live in the moment. If we spend too long looking backwards or forwards, we can miss the joy of the present. With hindsight we might do things differently, but we can learn from past mistakes and move on.
Worrying too much about what might happen in the future consumes a lot of time and energy. However, I must confess that I don’t always follow my advice if worrying about a friend or family member!
What about you? Past, present or future?

I don’t stuck in the past. I can’t change anything anyway. I’m more to the future and present but I think I have to find the balance between it. Sometimes I worry about the future too much 🙂

Yes, I agree that balance is the way to go. Thanks for your comment, Angela.

Wise words. One of my faults is always to worry too much about the future and not give enough attention to the present. Whilst it’s sensible to anticipate all eventualities, it does detract from the simple enjoyment of now.

Thank you. I’m not sure that my words are called wise that often, so your comment is appreciated! As another reader mentioned, it can be difficult to achieve a balance.

I work daily on finding a simple balance between “Past, present or future”. Great post!

Thank you and I’m pleased you like the post. It is not always easy to find a balance between past, present and future and, I think the key is finding a balance between them.

You are good at answering these, some of them are tricky!
As for this one, it’s a mix for me. Fond memories, future plans and sometimes just plain old holding the moment.

Thank you for your kind words, Helen. My approach to the challenge this year, having completed Bloganuary for the first time last year, is not to overthink each prompt, but just write down the first thoughts that come into my head! Your mix is a good balance.
