I can’t believe I’m doing the Bloganuary Challenge for the second year running! Why? Will I complete it this year? Who knows? I did enjoy Bloganuary last year, although I did find it challenging (!) at times, but I guess that’s the point of participating. Hopefully, I won’t lose any of my long-term, much valued readers and, equally, I hope to discover new blogs along the way.
The prompt for today I’m interpreting as referring to challenges in 2024. The first will be completing Bloganuary and the other will be to cook a poached egg successfully . I’ll keep you posted on how I get on.
I don’t want to make light of people who face serious challenges every day, but my blog is one of my happy places and an escape from some of the harsh realities of what is happening in our world, so expect a light-hearted touch in most of these posts.
Happy New Year and do stick with me, if you can! If you are a new reader – welcome!

Hi June, I enjoyed your Bloganuary posts last year and I’m happy to see you’re doing it again this year! (I also plan to post every day this month – with a poem.) Looking forward to reading your posts. Best wishes for the new year!

Yes, poached eggs can be tricky, despite Mr. Oliver’s winning smile. Good luck to you!

Good luck with Bloganuary and with completing the challenge. I’m not sufficiently conscientious to write a post every day, but I might use some of the prompts. As for making the perfect poached egg, I fear that’s a challenge I will never master!

Thank you. I surprised myself last year when I managed to complete the challenge. I’ve surprised myself again by repeating the experience! I think I’ll be more open to interpreting the prompts to suit me! I liked being ‘forced’ to write in a different style to the way I usually write. Apparently, one of the secrets to the perfect poached eggs is to have very fresh eggs! Thanks for commenting.

Good luck. I’ve never mastered poached egg although I’m assured once you’ve worked out the trick they are easy. I bet you do it.

I’m assuming that Bloganuary is a blog post a day??? I didn’t realise poached eggs were that tricky to do, good luck, hope you manage to achieve your goal. Thanks for linking with #pocolo

Yes, you’re spot on! Bloganuary is a post a day for the whole of January. I completed the challenge last year, but as for this year, we’ll have to see! I know people who can produce a poached egg with no problem at all, using the ‘water method’. I find it tricky! Thanks for commenting. #pocolo

I have many challenges but making poached eggs is not one of them 🙂 I could give Jamie Oliver a run for his money. I can’t cut cheese straight though. #pocolo

Great comment and I’m impressed that you can make poached eggs like Jamie! Cutting cheese or bread straight can be tricky, too! Thanks for commenting on this post. #pocolo
