I’ve probably mentioned before that I’m not really a stats person. However, I always have a sneaky peep, at the end of the year, to see which of my posts have been the most popular. I’m not talking about likes or views but specifically comments.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of blogging is connecting with readers and other bloggers, and I’m always delighted when someone takes the time to comment on a post. However we live in a busy world, and on occasions, I fail to comment on some of my favourite blogs when life gets in the way, leading me to feel guilty!
In 2023 two posts had the highest number of comments: Why am I learning Portuguese? and A-Z French Food. Part 4: S-Z If I were an analyst, I might be able to conclude why these posts had the highest engagement. As it happens, I don’t have any idea!
If I take this a step further and consider all the posts I have written since I began Fancying France, the post that has attracted the most comments is: 36 Hours in Perpignan – worth the visit?
The next post with the greatest number of comments was: To Travel or not to Travel?
Perhaps you have already read one or more of these posts or possibly you have another post that you enjoyed the most, if so I’d love to know which one!
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who has passed by and read, liked or commented on this blog. All best wishes for 2024 and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you, Beth! I feel I should read why you want to learn Portuguese, but I’m feeling very rough this morning. Nothing to do with celebrations- Asian flu or similar.

Happy New Year to you, too! Sorry to hear you’re feeling so rough. There are plenty of grim bugs around. Wishing you a speedy recovery, June.

Thanks, June! I can look forward to fireworks on the bridge on Tavira Day in June instead. There’s always a bright side, isn’t there? 🤗🩵
