This WordPress Prompt of the Day caught my eye: ‘What would you tell your teenage self?’

Answering this question with the (supposed!) wisdom and life experience that I have now, I would say to my teenage self:

  • Stop worrying! Put your thoughts and energy into something else. Things generally work out ok in the end
  • Don’t sweat the small stuff
  • Believe in yourself
  • Be confident
  • Be proud of who you are and where you come from
  • Appreciate your friends and family and show them that you do
  • If you are told you won’t achieve something, go for it anyway and surprise yourself
  • Be kind to yourself and to others
  • Don’t be a ‘people pleaser’. Remember to do what you want, too
  • Have fun!

Of course, hindsight is a wonderful thing, and as a teenager, I’m sure I wouldn’t have listened to or taken any notice of most of this advice anyway!
