These coypu are definitely pests. My friends was bitten on the ankle by one of them when he was strolling around the bassin. I’m convinced I saw one in my garden which means it had to cross a main road (François Mitterrand) and come through the iron gate. Must have been hungry. so we keep special watch on our cat.

I’m really shocked to learn that your friend was bitten by a coypu, whilst walking round the bassin. I’ll pay more attention when I’m next strolling around there. We usually have our dog with us, but I don’t know if that would make a difference. I wouldn’t want him bitten either! Thanks for commenting.

Ragondin in Brittany where these are now widespread! I hadn’t realised that they were only introduced into the country about 130 years ago!
