Hello and Welcome! Salut et Bienvenue sur mon blog!

My name is June, and I’m based in the UK. I live in a village in the Surrey Hills, situated approximately halfway between London and Brighton. I also spend a significant amount of time at our French house in Castelnaudary. This small town and port is located on the Canal du Midi, and can be found between Carcassonne and Toulouse in SW France.

This blog has developed from a long-held love affair with France that began when I was sixteen and has endured to this day. During my first visit to France, on an exchange trip to Paris, I fell in love for the first time. Or thought I had! Gilles, a Marc Bolan look-alike, broke my heart but did not diminish my affection for his birthplace. Little did I realise that this initial infatuation – with Paris, not Gilles – would shape my future studies and career. Yes, as a teacher of French!

Although the primary focus of this blog is France, I also enjoy writing about some of my other passions, including travel and dogs. I appreciate the creative process of producing a blog, and I love connecting with bloggers from around the world. Thank you for visiting, and just to add some cuteness, here’s a picture of my Border Collie, Zeph!
