My friends tease me because I follow the rules. I’m not sure that rules equate with laws.

As a school student, I used to flaunt the uniform rules – wear my skirt shorter than was permitted and wear make-up, but I always did my homework!

I’m sure I’ve unintentionally broken the law on occasions, perhaps by driving a little over the speed limit.

I decided to research some unusual laws in the UK. Perhaps I have broken some of them unknowingly? I discovered it is illegal to slide on ice in London, as per the Metropolitan Police Act 1839, which prohibits “making or using any slide upon ice or snow in any street or other thoroughfare.”. No, I don’t recall breaking this law intentionally or unintentionally.

However, while driving, I may have been guilty of ‘Sounding a horn aggressively when annoyed or frustrated.’ This can result in a fine of £50 which could rise to £1,000 if you go to court, contest and lose. Oh dear!

Amazing what you learn through blogging!

So, dear reader, ‘Have you ever unintentionally broken the law?’
