Sadly, my dad wouldn’t have been doing anything. He died of a massive and unexpected heart attack when he was younger than I am now.
My mum would have been enjoying grandparent duties, attending art classes, gardening or reading. She lived a full and active life.
Thanks for reading this short and succinct post.

I am sorry that your father died so early…so much he and you and your mother missed.
My father died at 93, my mother at 102…..at my age father would have been in his garden, or reading the news and working out his disastrous five horse accumulators behind a cloud of maize paper Gitanes. Mother would have been out and about with her voluntary work with ex services bodies, or watching sport…any sport…on the box.

Thank you for your kind words, Helen. Your parents lived to incredible ages. What was their secret? I love the image of your father smoking Gitanes and your mother watching sport. I think she might have got on well with Mr FF as he does exactly the same. Although he does play a significant amount of sport, too.

Before ‘phoning mother I had to check the T.V. guide….interrupt her during the Cheltenham Gold Cup and she’d have my guts for garters!

I’m sorry to hear your father passed so young. It’s always hard to lose a loved one. My parents stayed quite active into their later years. I hope it’s the same for me.

Thank you for your kind words. I think the key to a ‘successful’ old age is to stay active and mobile. Of course, this isn’t possible for everyone, sadly.
