How do significant life events or the passing of time influence your perspective on life?

My initial thought was, ‘ What a long prompt!’ This was followed by, ‘This is rather profound for a WordPress Daily prompt!’ Both comments might come across as rather unfair and cynical. Perhaps they are a reflection of my perspective on life…

The passage of time and the ageing process will inevitably influence one’s perspective on life. In my case, I have grown more confident, a little wiser and a little less naïve. I appreciate the simple pleasures of life, no longer needing the constant excitement I craved when I was younger!

Over the years, I have experienced significant life events that have influenced my perspective on life, including marriages, divorce, births of my children and deaths of loved ones. I like to think I am an optimistic, glass-half-full type of person. I feel privileged to have lived the life I have known and I hope that my perspective on life will help me to deal with some of the challenges ahead.
